A Pocahontas woman, Madison Junkersfeld, was arrested by Randolph County deputies this week on multiple charges, including drug possession, weapon possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and making threats.
The incident began when deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Country Club Road in Pocahontas. According to Randolph County Sheriff’s Office officials, Junkersfeld’s mother, Holly Watson, had contacted authorities after her daughter refused to leave her property despite being asked to do so. Watson stated that she had previously texted Junkersfeld, telling her she was not allowed on the property.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find Junkersfeld parked in her car in her mother’s driveway. Officials stated that despite orders from deputies to exit the vehicle, Junkersfeld initially refused. When one of the officers began attempting to break a window of the car, Junkersfeld complied and exited the vehicle. She was then taken into custody.
Authorities say an investigation of the situation revealed evidence of both threats and drug involvement. According to deputies, Watson showed them a text message in which Junkersfeld had allegedly made a threat to shoot a man if she found him in her house again.
A search of Junkersfeld’s vehicle uncovered a loaded handgun in her purse and a plastic straw that contained a white, crystal-like substance. Officials later confirmed the substance tested positive for methamphetamine.
Junkersfeld was transported to the Greene County Detention Center in Paragould following her arrest. No further details about her charges or court proceedings were immediately available.
