Baxter County authorities are investigating the death of Dr. Dmitrity Zak, a Mountain Home physician, whose body was discovered Tuesday morning in Lake Norfork.
According to law enforcement, Dr. Zak had been reported missing on Monday. His vehicle was located in Henderson on Tuesday, leading authorities to the vicinity of the Henderson Campground. Later that morning, his body was recovered in shallow water near the campground.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy. The examination will determine the cause and manner of death.
No further details on the circumstances surrounding Dr. Zak's death have been released as the investigation continues.
