A 22-year-old woman from Russellville was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 63 and Arkansas Highway 230 in Bono, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The crash, which occurred around 9:30 a.m., also injured a 21-year-old man from Monette, authorities said.
In a preliminary report, State Police identified the woman as Abigale Rory Dullenty. She was driving a 2011 Ford Focus eastbound on Highway 230 and attempted to cross U.S. 63. Investigators concluded that her vehicle failed to yield at a marked stop sign, entering the path of a northbound 2024 GMC Sierra driven by Dawson Kane Stewart.
The collision in the outside northbound lane forced both vehicles off the highway and into a nearby field northeast of the intersection, the report said.
Dullenty was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body was transported to the Craighead County Coroner’s Office. Stewart was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not detailed in the report.
Conditions at the time of the crash were described as partly cloudy with clear roadways, according to the report.
The crash is under investigation by State Police, with Trooper Daniel C. Willey listed as the investigating officer. Authorities emphasized that the details in the fatal crash summary are preliminary and could change as the investigation continues.
