A Mountain Home man is facing multiple charges after a reported altercation and an incident involving law enforcement during his arrest, according to authorities.
The Mountain Home Police Department identified the suspect as 19-year-old Kaiden Nicholas Knight, who is charged with felony second-degree assault and felony aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, as well as misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and public intoxication. According to records, Knight is also being held on a probation violation stemming from a previous case.
The incident began when Knight called 911, reporting that he had been assaulted and needed medical assistance. Officers responded to the scene and found emergency medical personnel already treating Knight, whose nose appeared deformed. Officers reported that Knight smelled of alcohol. Knight claimed he had been involved in a physical fight at another man’s home and had walked several blocks before making the call for help.
While Knight was transported to Baxter Health for treatment of a reported broken nose, officers went to the residence where the fight allegedly took place. According to the police report, the other man involved in the altercation and four witnesses all provided consistent statements. They alleged that Knight had grabbed a 16-year-old girl at the residence and whispered in her ear, causing her to tell him to leave her alone. When the homeowner intervened and told Knight to leave, Knight reportedly refused, produced a set of brass knuckles, and struck the man in the head and cheek. The man allegedly defended himself by striking Knight multiple times, after which Knight fled the scene.
At the hospital, officers reported that Knight became increasingly loud and disruptive. Despite repeated warnings, he continued to use profane language toward the officers. Once discharged, he was arrested for disorderly conduct. While being transported to the Baxter County Detention Center, Knight unbuckled his seatbelt and spat on an officer, resulting in an additional felony charge of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
His bond is set at $5,000. Additionally, authorities have filed a probation violation against him, stemming from a class Y felony aggravated robbery charge in August 2022. In that incident, Knight was accused of pulling a gun on a man in a car at Keller Park. Court records indicate Knight pleaded guilty to that charge as part of a plea deal, receiving a 10-year probation sentence.
With his current arrest, Knight is now facing both new charges and the revocation of his probation.
