Painter has spent the last three weeks in Little Rock preparing for the upcoming session. He noted that Medicaid remains a significant concern among residents in his district, calling it potentially one of the largest topics up for discussion during the session.
Education and hunger also emerged as central issues, with many residents expressing the need for strengthened food security and improvements to Arkansas’s education system. The local impact of property taxes was another topic Painter said he has heard frequently from constituents.
Lawmakers will reconvene in Little Rock in early 2027, with these and other pressing matters on the agenda.
