Amy Finster, Community Development Director for FARCO and Precise Contractors, has been named a State Volunteer of the Year by the Arkansas Economic Development and Chamber Executives. The accolade was announced during the organization's 10th Anniversary Conference, held Monday in Jonesboro.
Finster, a first-generation college graduate, has played a significant role in local community initiatives. She serves as chair of the Cave City Watermelon Festival, which has grown under her leadership into one of Arkansas's premier annual events.
Additionally, Finster spearheaded efforts to raise over $90,000 for school food pantries through the White River Health 5K, a contribution aimed at addressing food insecurity among students.
The Arkansas Economic Development and Chamber Executives, an affiliate of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, gives the State Volunteer of the Year award to individuals who make exceptional contributions to their communities through service and leadership.
