Alan Aguilar and Katherine Brown claimed victory at the fourth annual White River H2GoRun in Batesville, a 2-mile race held Saturday to benefit Alzheimer’s Arkansas. Aguilar was the overall winner, finishing the course in 11 minutes and 9 seconds. Brown was the top female finisher, crossing the line in 12 minutes and 37 seconds.
More than 150 runners and walkers participated in the event, which started at 7:30 a.m. at the Batesville Community Center. According to Race Director Jane T. Svetz, the event offered participants the option to run or walk the 2-mile course, with awards presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as to winners in various age groups.
The race was organized by Svetz alongside several sponsors, including ESA, to support Alzheimer’s Arkansas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting caregivers of individuals living with dementia and other chronic illnesses.
Jonathan Gotte and Blake Kidd rounded out the top three male finishers, while Malia Moss and Lisa Gillespie joined Brown among the top female finishers.
For those who missed this year’s event, organizers hope to continue the annual tradition and welcome even broader community involvement in the future.
