POCAHONTAS, Ark. — The Davidsonville Historic State Park will immerse visitors in early 19th-century Arkansas during the Territorial Days Living History Festival on Saturday, September 12. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to the public, offering activities for all ages.
The festival recreates the atmosphere of Davidsonville as it might have looked during a busy market week, complete with costumed townsfolk, live demonstrations, and interactive experiences. Visitors will have the opportunity to throw a tomahawk, engage in historic games, and learn about frontier trades and daily life.
Among the reenactors will be a tavern keeper, a militia commander, and women portraying the vital but often overshadowed roles they played in the community. Visitors can also meet County Judge Stephen F. Austin as part of the storytelling that showcases the individuals and trades that contributed to the development of Arkansas during its territorial era.
