A woman from Pocahontas was taken into custody this week on multiple charges, including possession of drugs, a weapon, and drug paraphernalia, as well as reportedly making threats.
Madison Junkersfeld was arrested after a confrontation at a residence on Country Club Road in Pocahontas, according to a statement from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were initially called to the scene after receiving a report from Junkersfeld’s mother, Holly Watson. Watson had informed deputies that Junkersfeld was not welcome on the property and claimed she had sent her daughter a text message stating as much.
When deputies arrived, Junkersfeld was found sitting in her vehicle in the driveway. Despite commands from officers to exit the car, Junkersfeld allegedly remained inside until one deputy began to break a window. At that point, she exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident.
During the investigation, Watson reportedly showed deputies a text message in which Junkersfeld made a threatening statement about shooting a man if she found him inside her home again. Deputies searched Junkersfeld’s vehicle and discovered a purse containing a loaded handgun and a plastic straw with a white crystal-like substance. Field testing confirmed the substance was methamphetamine.
Junkersfeld was arrested and later transferred to the Greene County Detention Center in Paragould. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident, and formal charges are expected.
No injuries were reported, and it remains unclear whether additional arrests or charges are forthcoming.
