A 22-year-old woman from Russellville, Arkansas, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday after failing to yield at a stop sign in Bono, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Abigale Rory Dullenty was driving a 2011 Ford Focus on Highway 230 when she allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection with Highway 63, north of Jonesboro. Her vehicle struck a northbound 2024 GMC Sierra, injuring its driver, Dawson Kane Stewart, 21, of Monette.
Stewart was transported to St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro for treatment. Details about the severity of his injuries have not been released.
The crash occurred under clear road conditions, state police said. The incident remains under investigation.
The Arkansas State Police Fatal Crash Report identified Dullenty as the sole fatality. No additional passengers were reported in either vehicle.
The intersection where the crash occurred serves as a key junction in Bono, a small community in Craighead County with a population of roughly 2,300. Hwy 63 is a major thoroughfare connecting regional traffic to and from Jonesboro.
Arkansas State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
