The Mountain Home Lady Bombers volleyball program began its season with a strong performance against longtime rival Harrison on Tuesday night, securing victories in all five matches across junior and high school levels.
The evening opened in the junior high gym with three matches. In the seventh-grade contest, the Lady Bombers narrowly defeated Harrison in three sets, winning the first set 25-7 before dropping the second 27-25. They rallied to take the decisive third set 15-7. Mountain Home's eighth-grade team secured a straight-sets victory over the Goblins, 25-18 and 25-19. The ninth-grade match was another hard-fought contest, with Harrison taking the first set 27-25. However, Mountain Home rebounded with dominant performances in the next two sets, winning 25-12 and 15-12.
The action continued in Goblin Arena, where the high school teams faced off. The junior varsity squad earned a straightforward 2-0 win, posting set scores of 25-18 and 25-15.
In the varsity match, Mountain Home overcame a slow start to defeat Harrison 3-1. The Lady Bombers dropped the opening set 25-20 but regrouped for a 25-21 win in set two. The third set saw Mountain Home trailing by seven points before they mounted a comeback to win 25-23. They closed out the match with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set.
Annyston Crooker led the Lady Bombers' offense with 16 kills, while Aleigh Lucas contributed 11 kills, nine blocks, and three aces. With the win, Mountain Home improves to 1-0 on the season and is set to host Brookland on Thursday.
