A distinctive art performance blending live painting, music, dance, and audience interaction is set to take the stage in Mountain Home next month.
The touring production, Artrageous, will perform at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, at the Ed Coulter Performing Arts Center, located within the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) campus. The event is presented by the Haley Cultural Arts Endowment.

Artrageous showcases artists painting large-scale canvases live on stage, accompanied by original music and choreographed dance routines. Attendees are invited to engage with the performers during the show, which culminates in a gallery of completed artworks. The troupe has its origins in street performances during the 1980s and has toured under the name Artrageous since 2014. The group performs approximately 100 shows annually and has entertained audiences at high-profile venues such as Carnegie Hall, an NBA All-Star halftime show, and the 1998 World Cup final in Paris.
For the Mountain Home event, performers have planned several audience-focused activities. Attendees arriving in homemade Artrageous-themed costumes can participate in a contest, and the first 100 people to enter the venue will receive an "Adventure Kit." Additionally, some audience members will have the opportunity to join the performers on stage during the show and enter a drawing to win one of the evening’s completed paintings.
The ASUMH Performing Arts Council, led by Chairperson Caroline Carroll and composed of community volunteers, has organized the event as part of a performing arts series that has brought cultural programming to the Twin Lakes Area since 2011.
