A woman has been taken into custody in Lawrence County on charges of contempt of court related to failure to comply with a court order, according to local authorities.
Cara Ashley Duke-Squires was arrested on Sunday, July 26, 2026, and booked into the Lawrence County Detention Center. Officials say the charges stem from allegations of noncompliance with a prior court directive.
In late June, prosecutors filed a petition to revoke her suspended imposition of sentence. The filing is sometimes used in cases where an individual is believed to have violated the terms of a previously agreed-upon sentence suspension, according to court officials.
Duke-Squires remains in the custody of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office as she awaits her next court hearing.
No additional details about the circumstances of the alleged violation or upcoming court proceedings were provided by authorities by press time.
