LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — John Hogue has been appointed as Arkansas’s next State Fire Marshal, according to the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management (ADEM). Hogue brings 32 years of expertise in fire, explosion, and hazardous materials investigations to the position.
ADEM Director AJ Gary praised Hogue’s qualifications and leadership skills. “John’s depth of experience and proven leadership in complex fire and explosive investigations make him an outstanding choice for State Fire Marshal,” Gary stated in an announcement. “His commitment to public safety, professionalism, and interagency coordination reflects exactly what this role requires to best serve Arkansans.”
Hogue is a certified investigator of fire and explosions and a licensed private investigator. Over the course of his career, he has conducted more than 1,500 fire and explosion investigations across the United States. His professional background also includes roles as a fire investigator, law enforcement officer, fire code inspector, Urban Search and Rescue technician, hazardous materials technician, fire captain/EMT, and bomb squad member.
In addition to his extensive practical experience, Hogue has completed advanced training in fire and explosive investigations and has taught courses for the Arkansas Fire Academy and local emergency medical technician associations. He holds several nationally recognized certifications in the field.
Hogue will begin transitioning into his new responsibilities immediately, ensuring the continuity of statewide efforts in fire prevention, investigations, and public safety.
