A Paragould woman has been sentenced to five years in a community corrections center after admitting to enabling an inappropriate sexual relationship involving a teenager.
Brittany N. Sims, 34, pleaded guilty last week to one count of permitting child abuse, classified as a Class B felony, according to court records. Second Judicial Circuit Judge Randy Philhours imposed the sentence.
Sims will serve 60 months at an Arkansas Department of Corrections’ Community Corrections Center, with credit for 359 days of jail time already served. In addition to the five-year sentence, Sims received a 60-month suspended imposition of sentence. The court also ordered her to register as a sex offender and barred her from having any contact with the victim.
Two additional charges against Sims—introducing a controlled substance into the body of another and contributing to the delinquency of a minor—were dropped as part of the case, per a sentencing order.
Sims was arrested in August 2025 after a Paragould police investigation into Reese Wilson, a man accused of engaging in an “inappropriate sexual relationship” with a juvenile. According to case documents, investigators alleged that Sims was aware of the relationship and allowed it to continue.
The investigation also revealed that Sims had provided marijuana and alcohol to the victim at her residence. During a post-Miranda interview, authorities said Sims made multiple incriminating statements, leading to her arrest and transfer to the Greene County Detention Center.
Judge Philhours’ order aims to hold Sims accountable for enabling the abuse while addressing the surrounding circumstances of the case.
