Junior KJ Jackson has been named the starting quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks ahead of the 2026 season. First-year head coach Ryan Silverfield announced Jackson’s selection following a competitive preseason battle with Memphis transfer AJ Hill.
Jackson, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound sophomore from Montgomery, Alabama, gained the starting role after making six career appearances, including one start. Last season, Jackson completed 33 of 54 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns. In his lone starting performance, Jackson went 11-for-17 for 126 yards and one touchdown during a 31-17 loss to Missouri.
Silverfield expressed his confidence in Jackson in a statement, stating, "I’m very, very confident moving forward with him as our starter and leader. I have high expectations for all the quarterbacks to continue to compete and battle every single day because it’s college football and you never know what could happen."
The Razorbacks begin their season at home against North Alabama on September 5. Jackson’s performance will be watched closely as Arkansas looks to build momentum under Silverfield’s leadership in his debut season as head coach.
