Authorities in Izard County have reported the arrests of five individuals over the past week, according to Sheriff Charley Melton. Each suspect remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On August 19, deputies arrested Samuel Copes, 23, of Oxford, on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Michelle Foshee, 50, of Violet Hill, was taken into custody on August 20. She was arrested on a warrant issued by the Izard County District Court for failure to appear as well as a separate warrant from the Circuit Court citing three counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
Stephen Curtis, 22, of Horseshoe Bend, was detained on August 22 for domestic battery in the third degree.
Two arrests were recorded on August 23. Joshua Maccart, 41, of Melbourne, was apprehended on two counts of third-degree assault on a family or household member and disorderly conduct. James Farris, 55, of Horseshoe Bend, faces charges of disorderly conduct, first-degree criminal mischief, obstructing governmental operations, and resisting arrest.
The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate these cases with further proceedings pending in local courts.
