Severe thunderstorms swept across northern Sharp and Lawrence counties on Saturday, leaving a trail of damage but no reported injuries, according to local officials.
In Sharp County, trees were knocked down in Cherokee Village, and a few homes sustained damage. Lawrence County saw heavy rain and storms impact areas such as Imboden, Black Rock, Smithville, Portia, and Clover Bend. Numerous trees were toppled in these areas, but no personal injuries were reported.
The storms caused extensive power outages in both counties. Entergy reported widespread service disruptions in Sharp and Lawrence counties, while Craighead Electric Cooperative experienced outages in Lawrence County.
To the east and south, Greene and Jackson counties were also affected by severe thunderstorms, which caused additional damage.
Officials are continuing to assess the full extent of the storm’s impact as power restoration efforts progress in affected communities.
