POCAHONTAS, Ark. — A Randolph County woman is facing multiple charges, including a Class Y felony, after deputies say she threatened to shoot a man and was later found in possession of a loaded handgun and methamphetamine.
Madison Lynn Junkersfeld, 29, of O’Kean, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 20, on suspicion of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony. She also faces charges of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance and first-degree terroristic threatening, both Class D felonies. Additionally, Junkersfeld is charged with three misdemeanors: possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass, and obstruction of governmental operations.
According to a probable cause affidavit from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 4:31 p.m. Wednesday to a home on Country Club Road. Junkersfeld had allegedly refused to leave the property despite being told repeatedly to do so by the resident.
The homeowner informed deputies that Junkersfeld had arrived claiming some of her mail was there. After being told there was no mail for her and she was not welcome, Junkersfeld allegedly remained in her vehicle in the home's driveway.
Four deputies responded to the scene. Authorities said Junkersfeld initially refused commands to exit her vehicle, only stepping out when a deputy was preparing to break the window. She was then taken into custody.
Prior to the arrest, the homeowner told deputies that Junkersfeld had made concerning phone calls, including a threat to shoot a man if he returned to the residence. In addition, deputies reviewed messages that reportedly indicated Junkersfeld had anticipated she might be sent to jail or take her own life, the affidavit states.
During a tow-inventory search of Junkersfeld’s vehicle following the arrest, deputies reported discovering a purse they say belonged to her. Inside, they allegedly found a loaded black handgun with five live rounds and drug paraphernalia, including a straw with white crystalline residue. Testing reportedly confirmed the presence of methamphetamine on the residue.
Deputies also reported finding 0.33 grams of methamphetamine inside a plastic container during the search.
Junkersfeld remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
