The Mountain View Yellowjackets wrapped up a preseason benefit football scrimmage on the road against the Paris Eagles on Thursday night, with the senior high game ending in a 14-14 tie. The junior high scrimmage, which had also been scheduled, was canceled.
Mountain View made a strong start offensively. Noah Davis scored on a 4-yard touchdown run during the opening drive, followed by a 28-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter by George Rector. A first-half interception by Tyler Clark also halted an early scoring opportunity for the Eagles, giving the Yellowjackets a 14-0 lead heading into the second half.
Paris, however, mounted a late comeback. Eagles quarterback Josh Honea found the end zone during the final moments of the scrimmage, completing the rally and ending the game tied at 14-14.
The preseason scrimmage serves as a tune-up for the Yellowjackets, who will officially open their 2026 season on the road against Harrisburg next Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
