HIGHLAND, Ark. — A house fire Thursday morning damaged the home of former Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose, authorities confirmed.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the 2600 block of Highway 62 in Highland around 7:15 a.m., according to Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell. Rose was inside the residence when the fire broke out, but no injuries were reported.
Sheriff Russell said he was uncertain if others were present in the home at the time of the incident. The fire was primarily localized to the roof and attic area of the structure, he stated.
Fire departments from Hardy, Highland, and Ash Flat responded to the scene, alongside the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office and Highland Police Department. Efforts to extinguish the blaze wrapped up by 9:48 a.m., Russell confirmed.
No further details about the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage were immediately available.
