A head-on collision on U.S. 63 in Lawrence County claimed the life of a 20-year-old Pocahontas man and left another driver seriously injured.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, the crash occurred at 7:59 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, near Lawrence County Road 106. Officials stated that Morgan A. Wiles, 21, of Ash Flat, was driving southbound in a 2005 Jeep Liberty when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Wyatt A. McIntare.
McIntare suffered fatal injuries in the collision, while Wiles was transported to Regional One Health in Memphis with serious injuries. The crash report indicated that weather conditions were clear and the roads were dry at the time of the incident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
