JONESBORO, Ark. — SANY Nutrition Group, a protein snack manufacturing company, has officially taken over and renovated the former Butterball building on East Highland Drive in Jonesboro.
The company announced on Aug. 18 that it is investing $30 million in the facility, with plans to create more than 150 jobs over the next three years. Operations at the site are already underway.
Angela Pernsteiner, an investor with SANY Nutrition Group, cited the city's favorable business environment as a key factor in the company’s decision to locate in northeast Arkansas. "We chose Jonesboro, Arkansas, for its business-friendly climate, dependable supply-chain infrastructure, and skilled workforce—an ideal combination for fast-moving food manufacturing," Pernsteiner said in a statement.
Jonesboro Unlimited President and CEO Mark Young expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. "We continue to find meaningful partnerships with industries in and around food and advanced manufacturing," Young said. "Jonesboro is the right place to be successful, and we are thrilled that SANY Nutrition Group has chosen to call us home."
The company's investment is expected to contribute to Jonesboro's ongoing economic growth, particularly in the food manufacturing sector. The remodeled facility represents a new chapter for the property's history, which previously housed operations for Butterball, a well-known name in food production.
