Nearly four years after her disappearance, Chelsea Woods of Clinton remains missing, and law enforcement continues to investigate the case. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the search is ongoing and that the case remains unresolved.

Woods, who was 38 at the time, was last seen on August 28, 2018. According to a sheriff’s office report cited by Fox 16, witnesses stated that she appeared to be acting erratically before running out of her home and into nearby woods. Authorities said Woods had placed a 911 call shortly before fleeing into the wooded area near her residence just north of Clinton.

Three days after she was reported missing, deputies conducted a welfare check at Woods’ home. They found her front door open and her cat inside but no sign of Woods. Searches of the surrounding area followed, during which deputies used a patrol vehicle’s loudspeaker to call for her, but no response was received. Some of her personal belongings were located during the investigation, but Woods herself has never been found.

In an effort to generate leads, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office increased the reward for information in the case to $10,000 late last year. The reward is offered for information leading to Woods’ location or the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of anyone responsible for her disappearance.

Authorities urge anyone with possible information about the case to contact the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
