Multiple fire departments worked together Sunday afternoon to battle a house fire in Newark after reports suggested possible occupants were trapped inside. According to information from the Batesville Fire Department, Newark Fire requested mutual aid at 1:37 p.m. for a residential structure fire involving potential entrapment.

Batesville Fire dispatched Engine 2 along with 11 firefighters to assist, while the Sulphur Rock Volunteer Fire Department also joined the effort. Fire crews worked in unison to search the property for trapped individuals, but officials reported that no one was found inside.

Despite initial search efforts, worsening interior conditions forced firefighters to halt further searches. Officials have not provided details on the extent of the damage or the fire's cause.

The collaboration among departments highlights the value of mutual aid agreements in addressing emergencies of this scale and complexity.
