Jonesboro police are investigating a shooting that led to a car crashing into a house on Saturday evening.

According to a police report, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Aug. 15 in the 2400 block of Westacre Drive.

Responding officers discovered a 2014 Ford Mustang that had struck the front porch of a residence, damaging multiple support beams and sections of the wooden railing. The damage was estimated at $6,000, according to Officer Nathan Davis' report.

“The car was empty, no driver or occupants inside,” Davis reported. “Both front airbags were deployed, and broken glass was everywhere from the busted windshield and windows.”

Police also noted several bullet holes in the driver’s side fender and hood of the vehicle.

Sally Smith, public information officer for the Jonesboro Police Department, stated Monday that no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Jonesboro Police Department at 870-935-5657.

The investigation is ongoing.
