A residential structure fire in Newark prompted assistance from the Batesville Fire Department on Monday, officials said in a social media post.

The Newark Fire Department requested mutual aid from Batesville at 1:37 p.m. to help combat a fire that had raised concerns of possible entrapment inside the home, according to the Batesville department's statement.

Fire crews conducted a thorough search of the residence before withdrawing due to increasingly hazardous conditions. Officials confirmed there were no occupants inside the structure.

Batesville Engine 2 and 11 firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The Sulphur Rock Volunteer Fire Department also provided mutual aid during the response.

No further details about the fire or potential damage were immediately available.

This remains a developing situation, and updates may follow.
