The White River H2GoRun is set to return for its fourth year this Saturday, inviting runners and walkers to support Alzheimer’s Arkansas, a nonprofit organization that aids Arkansans caring for loved ones with dementia and chronic illnesses.

The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 22 at the Batesville Community Center, with participants tackling a 2-mile course. Awards will be handed out to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top competitors in each age category.

Race Director Jane Svetz is organizing this year’s event alongside sponsors such as ESA, whose employees Phyllis Barber and Michelle Wilkerson have been involved in supporting the initiative. Organizers expect a strong turnout, noting that last year’s event drew approximately 150 participants.

Proceeds will go directly to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, which provides resources, education, and support for caregivers navigating the challenges of caring for individuals with dementia.

For more information on the event or to register, participants can contact the race organizers or visit the Batesville Community Center before race day.
