Meanwhile, the Melbourne School District is preparing to host an open house on its elementary and high school campuses later today from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Families are encouraged to attend to meet staff and familiarize themselves with the facilities ahead of the school year. Classes in Melbourne are scheduled to begin Wednesday, according to district officials.
