The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas has announced it will hold a USDA food distribution event for Lawrence County residents on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., or until supplies run out, at the National Guard Armory, 1121 SE Front Street, in Walnut Ridge.
Eligible households must reside in Lawrence County and meet the income guidelines set by The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Recipients are eligible to receive USDA foods once per month. To confirm eligibility, individuals must provide their name, address, family size, and combined monthly household income, which can be self-declared.
Those picking up food items must collect for their own household unless they are designated as an authorized representative for another qualified household. Authorized representatives must present a signed authorization form containing the recipient’s name, address, family size, and combined monthly income. Case workers planning to pick up food for multiple households are required to make prior arrangements with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas.
USDA foods will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies are exhausted. Organizers will utilize translation apps to assist individuals with limited English proficiency.
