Kettle Cuisine LLC has issued a recall for its Marketside Tomato Bisque Soup Kit, distributed at Walmart locations in Arkansas and Missouri, due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recalled product is a 14-ounce soup kit with a best-by or use-by date of August 22, 2026. It was distributed between June 30 and July 7. The kit is identified by the UPC number 194346474004.
Health officials warn that Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms, including fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. In pregnant individuals, listeria infection may lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.
As of this time, Kettle Cuisine has received no reports of illnesses tied to the soup kit. However, the FDA advises consumers not to eat the product. The agency recommends discarding the soup kit or returning it to the place of purchase for a refund.
