Lake Norfork is offering nearly optimal conditions for visitors this weekend, with normal water levels and generally clear conditions. However, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has issued a notice to anglers fishing below Norfork Dam regarding possible water releases over the coming days.

According to officials, releases from the dam will occur as Southwest Energy increases hydroelectric power generation to meet high energy demands. Anglers are encouraged to remain vigilant and mindful of warning sirens, which will sound prior to water being discharged. When the horn sounds, those fishing downstream should immediately leave the water to ensure their safety.

For the latest updates on lake conditions and dam operations, visitors and residents can consult Corps of Engineers resources or stay in touch with local agencies.
