An Oxford woman was arrested on Tuesday following a series of incidents at the Dollar General store in Oxford, according to local authorities.

Okiema Window, who had previously been banned from the property, is now facing three counts of terroristic threatening and one count of criminal trespass, all classified as Class A misdemeanors.

According to the arrest affidavit, Window entered the store around 9:30 p.m. on August 5, despite being prohibited from the premises since last month. Store employees confronted her and requested that she leave. When she attempted to purchase an item, employees declined to serve her and reiterated that she needed to leave the property. Authorities report that Window then became erratic, verbally threatened staff, and refused to exit.

The Izard County Sheriff's Department was called, and a deputy was dispatched to take statements from four witnesses present at the scene. Additionally, another officer went to Window's residence to hear her account of the incident. Window claimed that she had spoken to a district manager for Dollar General, who had allegedly told her she could return to the store. She also stated that both she and her son felt threatened while inside the store.

Store employees disputed Window’s claims, citing previous incidents as distressing. The assistant manager asserted that the district manager never granted Window permission to shop there. Employees also referenced a prior incident on July 18, during which they reported that Window had placed hands on one of the staff members.

Izard County Sheriff Charley Melton later consulted with the district manager, who confirmed that Window had not been allowed back on the property. Information gathered by the Sheriff’s Department was submitted to Prosecuting Attorney Drew Smith, who reviewed the case and determined that no charges could be filed concerning the earlier incident.

Last weekend, several Oxford residents gathered outside the Dollar General store to show their support for its employees following the confrontations.

As of now, Window is facing charges stemming from the August 5 incident, and the legal process will determine the outcome of her case.
