The White River Bass Classic will take place this Saturday, August 15, giving local anglers the opportunity to compete for cash prizes, raffle items, and a top payout of $1,000. The tournament, organized by the Batesville Bassmasters, is open to the public and will use approved public access points along the White River and Ramsey Slough.
Entry is $120 per boat, which includes two entries into a raffle for a 2026 BassCat Bobcat boat. Registered participants will also receive a cap, which could earn them a $350 bonus if worn during the $250 Big Bass weigh-in. Competitors are limited to a maximum of five fish per boat, and state length regulations must be followed: largemouth and Kentucky bass must measure at least 12 inches, while smallmouth bass must measure over 15 inches, with a strict limit of one smallmouth per angler.
This year’s tournament proceeds will fund scholarships for local youth. A record $8,000 will be awarded across eight scholarships to high school seniors.
Registration will be held at Southside Farm & Outdoors, located at 1452 Batesville Boulevard, on Thursday, August 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, August 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Late registration is also available Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kennedy Park pavilion.
