FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas softball team’s incoming transfer class has been ranked No. 3 nationally in D1 Softball’s Transfer Class Rankings, following Texas Tech and Texas. Florida and Texas A&M round out the top five among the 40 programs listed by the publication.
Arkansas’s transfer class includes Kylie Doherty, Grace Hornbuckle, Kate Munnerlyn, Katie Wetteland, Kendall Yarnell, and Ava Zachary. Doherty, a standout at Boston University, earned three All-Patriot League honors and was named 2026 Patriot League Player of the Year. She also garnered First-Team NFCA All-Region honors in both 2025 and 2026.
Hornbuckle comes from Omaha, where she played in 28 games and made 10 starts over two seasons. Munnerlyn, a left-handed pitcher from California, appeared in 26 games during her freshman and sophomore seasons at Texas A&M.
Wetteland joins Arkansas after a stellar freshman season at Nevada. She was named the 2026 Mountain West Freshman of the Year, a D1 Softball Second-Team Freshman All-American, and earned First-Team All-Mountain West and Second-Team NFCA All-Mountain Region honors. Yarnell, formerly at UCF, appeared in 111 games over two seasons, primarily as a designated player. Zachary, a 2026 D1 Softball Second-Team Freshman All-American, comes from Notre Dame.
This recognition follows a No. 6 national ranking by Softball America for the same transfer class in early July.
The Razorbacks are coming off their best season in program history. The 2026 squad achieved a 47-13 record, marking the program’s first appearance in the Women’s College World Series. The team also set a school record with 26 run-rule wins and posted the second-most total wins in program history.
At Bogle Park, the Razorbacks dominated with a 29-3 record, the second-most wins and second-best home winning percentage since the stadium’s opening in 2009. Only the 2022 and 2018 seasons posted stronger home-field performances.
