Dr. Homer Brooks, a medical contributor to KSAR, emphasized the importance of proper hygiene and food safety to help reduce the risk of infection. He recommends thoroughly washing hands with soap and water before and after handling fresh produce, as well as rinsing fruits and vegetables under running water before eating, cutting, or cooking them.
