Jonesboro, Ark. — Changes introduced in April at the Jonesboro Revenue Office are helping to dramatically reduce customer wait times, according to state officials.

Jim Hudson, secretary of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, said customers now benefit from digital tools such as QR codes, which streamline the check-in process for scheduled appointments. Jonesboro, which operates the fifth busiest revenue office in the state, currently reports average wait times between six and eight minutes for those who book appointments online.

“We’re now doing digital check-in,” Hudson explained. “You come into the revenue office, you take your phone, you just scan the QR code, [and] give us a little bit of information. That puts you into the queue.”

Additionally, certain services—like driver’s license renewal or vehicle registration updates—can now be completed entirely online, enabling some customers to avoid visiting the office altogether.

The state’s advancements are part of a broader push to create more efficiency in public services. For more information on appointment scheduling or online services, residents are encouraged to visit the Arkansas DFA website.
