Mountain Home High School golfer Cody Cormican emerged victorious after a four-player playoff to win the individual title at the Phil Parker Invitational in Jonesboro on Tuesday. Cormican shot a 73 during the single-day event, going as low as four under par at one point.
The Bombers finished fifth in the team standings with a total score of 320, 13 strokes behind the Harrison Goblins, who claimed the team title. Contributing to Mountain Home’s score were Braxton Blagg with an 81, Bailor Tate with an 82, Teagan Booy with an 84, and Christian Chamberlin with a 90.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Bombers captured third place with a team score of 323. Little Rock Episcopal led the field with 279, followed by Brookland at 283. Lady Bombers standout Ashley Smith placed fourth individually with an 87. Additional scores for the Lady Bombers included Molly Wright’s 106, Ava Caples’ 130, and Brylee Blasdel’s 135.
Mountain Home’s golf teams will return to competition on Thursday with a nine-hole match against the Harrison Goblins, set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
