A 96-year-old Jonesboro woman was struck and killed Tuesday evening while crossing an intersection, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Officials identified the victim as Grethel Turner. The incident occurred at 8:36 p.m. at the intersection of West Nettleton Avenue and Nettleton Circle in Jonesboro. Turner was hit by a 2014 Chevrolet truck while crossing the roadway, authorities stated in their report.
The name of the truck's driver was not included in the state police release. No further details about the incident have been provided at this time.
