The transportation department at Mountain Home Public Schools is adjusting to new routines following the start of the 2026-27 school year. Superintendent Allyson Dewey described the first day as smooth overall but emphasized the importance of the community’s patience as the district fine-tunes its operations.
Mountain Home operates 42 bus routes, covering roughly 2,000 miles daily. Dewey noted that adjustments are expected to continue in the initial weeks as bus drivers become more familiar with their routes and the overall schedule settles into place.
The district is also operating under new leadership in its transportation department. Matt Roberts, the newly appointed transportation director, started the year working with families and drivers to address concerns as they arose. Dewey encouraged those interested in becoming bus drivers to apply, highlighting the ongoing need for additional staff to support the district’s operations.
