JONESBORO, Ark. — A Craighead County detention officer has been dismissed and arrested after an internal investigation uncovered alleged misconduct, according to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office.
Ashton Rose, 32, was terminated from his position at the Craighead County Detention Center on Monday, August 10, the sheriff’s office stated in a news release. Following a review of the investigation’s findings by the Craighead County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, a warrant was issued for Rose’s arrest on a charge of second-degree sexual assault.
Jail records indicate Rose was booked into the Greene County Detention Center at 11:52 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11. He was being held pending a bond hearing, the sheriff’s office confirmed.
Details surrounding the alleged misconduct or the circumstances leading to the charge were not disclosed by officials.
Authorities emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
