A Mountain View man was killed Monday evening in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 25 near Locust Grove, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Michael Jackson, 44, of Mountain View, was driving west on Highway 25 in a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado when the truck left the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned, according to a preliminary report from state troopers. The incident occurred around 5:35 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 25 and Greenbriar Farm Road.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was transported to Doty Family Funeral Home. A passenger in the vehicle sustained injuries and was taken to White River Health in Batesville for treatment. Authorities did not release the passenger’s identity or details about their condition.

The crash summary indicated that weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the accident.

The Arkansas State Police routinely investigate fatal crashes as part of their mission to promote highway safety.
