JONESBORO, Ark. — A 22-year-old man is facing multiple charges after gunshots reportedly damaged homes and vehicles near Fox Meadow Lane late last month.

Jametrius Jaquan Thomas was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 10, and charged with a Class B felony for a terroristic act involving an occupiable structure, a Class D felony for possession of a firearm by certain persons, and violation of a no-contact order.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro police first responded to the area on July 26 after receiving a report of shots fired. A victim told officers that a white SUV—described as either a GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Tahoe—entered a nearby apartment complex, and a man stepped out of the vehicle. After the victim confronted the occupants and told them to leave, the SUV exited the area.

Shortly after, the same SUV reportedly drove west on Fox Meadow Lane, and the victim heard several gunshots coming from the roadway. Officers later recovered three spent shell casings near the residence and observed bullet damage to homes and vehicles in the neighborhood.

During a recorded interview on July 31, a witness identified Thomas as being involved in the incident leading up to the gunfire. The witness alleged that Thomas was dropped off by an off-white Chevrolet Tahoe and confronted by the victim before leaving. Moments later, the witness said the Tahoe returned, and gunfire was heard coming from the direction of Fox Meadow Lane. Investigators stated that video and audio footage obtained from the scene supported the witness’s account.

Thomas was taken into custody at his residence on Aug. 10. Authorities reported finding him in possession of a 9 mm Glock handgun. The affidavit further alleges that Thomas has previous felony convictions and was discovered in the company of a person protected under a no-contact order issued on July 20.

District Judge David Boling set Thomas’ bond at $150,000 cash or surety, citing his probationary status and prior felony arrests related to violent crimes. Thomas is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 30 at the Craighead County Courthouse.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
