Several electric cooperatives reported widespread power outages across parts of northeast Arkansas early Monday morning, leaving over 2,400 customers temporarily without service.
Craighead Electric Cooperative announced more than 2,000 outages within its coverage area as of 6:15 a.m., with the majority concentrated in Poinsett County. Customers affected by Craighead Electric outages were encouraged to report issues by calling 888-771-7772.
Clay County Electric Cooperative also reported approximately 400 customers without power during the same period, primarily in western Randolph County. Customers of that cooperative can report outages at 800-521-2450.
Efforts to restore power remained ongoing as of the latest updates. Residents experiencing outages should contact their respective electric provider for assistance and updates.
No cause for the outages was immediately disclosed by the cooperatives. Additional updates are expected as more information becomes available.
