FULTON COUNTY, Ark. — A boil order is currently in effect for all customers of the Mammoth Spring Waterworks system after a water main broke early Saturday morning, according to information from the city and the Arkansas Department of Health.

City officials stated on social media that workers spent the night repairing a significant leak in the water system. Although water service was temporarily disrupted, it has since been restored.

Under the boil order, residents are advised to boil all water for at least one minute before drinking it or using it to prepare food. The Arkansas Department of Health also recommends discarding any pre-existing ice cubes and using only boiled water to make ice.

Those affected should continue these precautions until officials lift the boil order. The timeline for that decision will depend on water quality testing confirming the system's safety.
