Arkansas Razorbacks senior tight end Jaden Platt has been named to the 2026 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, which honors the nation's most outstanding collegiate tight ends. The Haslet, Texas, native is one of 43 players nationwide selected for the list and one of 10 representing the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Platt made significant contributions to the Razorbacks during the 2025 season, starting 11 games and appearing in all 12 matchups. He recorded 21 receptions for 296 yards and scored two touchdowns. Among his standout performances, Platt had a career-high 66 receiving yards on four catches during a November 22 game at Texas, capped by an eight-yard touchdown catch from quarterback KJ Jackson in the final quarter. Earlier in the season, he posted 53 receiving yards on three receptions in a game against Ole Miss.
The John Mackey Award Selection Committee evaluates players based on their on-field performance, leadership, and potential throughout the season. Additional players may be added to the watch list as the season progresses. Named in honor of Pro Football Hall of Famer John Mackey, the award was established in 2000 by the Nassau County Sports Commission and remains a premier individual honor for the tight end position.
In addition to this recognition, Platt was also named a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team on July 20. This honor highlights college football student-athletes who excel in community service, academics, and athletics.
